LECTURE TOPIC:  "John Pelham in the Shenandoah Valley." Confederate artillerist John Pelham is best known for battles that occurred outside the Shenandoah Valley. From 1861 until his death in 1863, he commanded the Stuart Horse Artillery, which was in and out of the Shenandoah Valley. Sarah Kay Bierle will examine both teh military and personal aspects of Pelham's time in the Valley.

SPEAKER BIO:  Sarah Kay Bierle is a public historian who focuses on education and battefield preservation. She has written essays and seven books, including her two newest: Glorious Courage and Decisions at Chancellorsville.
