LECTURE TOPIC:  Eric Buckland will discuss Mosby's Rangers' operations in the Shenandoah Valley during the Fall of 1864. Included are the Berryville Wagon Train Raid, the fight at Morgan’s Lane, the execution of six Rangers in Front Royal and the Greenback Raid.

SPEAKER BIO: Eric Buckland graduated from the University of Kansas and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army. The majority of his 22-year Army career was spent in the Special Forces. After he retired in 1999 with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, he embarked on a second career, retiring in 2021 as a Policy Analyst in the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy. Buckland has written several books about the lives of some of the men who rode with the 43rd Battalion Virginia Cavalry – Mosby’s Rangers. He has delivered more than 100 presentations about the stories in his books to Civil War round tables and historical societies, has appeared on C-Span twice and published two articles in America’s Civil War magazine.  He currently serves as the editor of The Stuart-Mosby Historical Society’s newsletter, The Southern Cavalry Review and previously served as President for six years.
